MAGIC BABY ON HALLOWEEN
Better Take Halloween Seriously:I have a theory that the real reason humanity is stark raving mad is because we are all mortal. Death anxiety bring out the worst in all of us. Don’t go imagining that you are free of death anxiety, just find out where you have it buried. Smart guys like me and the Buddha meditate on our death every day because the best thing to do with mortality is to keep it where you can see it.For a long time in the West we had a near perfect antidote to death anxiety. All you had to do was believe in Jesus Christ and make a sincere apology at death and you were home free. But we grew up and that just doesn’t work anymore for intellectually honest people who want to live in a state of spiritual reality.

Halloween has become a fun night for the children and all in all it is a fairly good way to introduce children to the notion of death. Long ago and still in pagan spirituality Halloween is a profound spiritual occasion. The message of all Saints Day is that truly good people live forever.

It’s obvious that the worst assholes are people who think they are immortal. I’m not saying that there are no immortals, whose to say? But what I am saying is that thinking, that just by thinking you are immortal, makes you immortal, is sure evidence that you are a total asshat. Much better to remind yourself every day that there is nothing surer than the fact that you are inevitably going to die. That way you stand a chance of acquiring some humility at least. No humility no real human being. It’s that simple.

If you think that you have been born into this world to find fault with others and judge them then you’re a sorely mistaken moron. Whats that you say? Bad things have happened to you? You are a victim? We know all about these maniacally self important victims they are the cruelest, most vindictive and vengeful assholes around. And immortal too. Isn’t that amazing?

Better think about the facts of life and death and be grateful for what you have and even grateful for what you have lost. There is only one thing that you can never loose, well really its three things in combination and you had better be cultivating them everyday. The three things in every conceivable combination are Love, Wisdom, and Freedom. If you are going to have what it takes to face death psychologically and spiritually right now on Halloween and every day, you need to get really deep within these three states of authentic human being, and being human.

When physical death inevitably finds each one of us we stand the chance of dying as a human being. Thats the serious message of Halloween.
